Should businesses work with celebrities?

It depends on many factors but ultimately it needs to be an authentic and genuine partnership for the public and the media to believe it. Do not just work with celebrities for the sake of it as the partnership just won’t work and both parties will end up disappointed.

The best partnerships are where a celebrity has had a personal experience with the product or service you provide. This works particularly well if you are a charity and the celebrity or their family or friends have either been affected by the work of the charity or even had to use the charity’s services.

The same applies with products and services. If you have seen a celebrity organically talk about a particular subject on social media or in a media interview and you think your business could complement their life and even make it easier then there may be a potential opportunity for you to work together. You also only want to work with a celebrity that shares the same brand or business values that you operate.

However, you always need to be aware that more often than not, there will usually be a cost or certainly some terms and conditions that the celebrity or their agent would stipulate. Rarely anything in life is free!
